This is for the 2,752 innocent people who were killed in my home city of New York. It’s also for the 1,609 people who lost their husband or wife. The 3,051 children who have to grow up without their mother or father. And for the 422,000 of us New Yorkers who still suffer from the post-traumatic stress. The list goes on and on. I can’t look at the pictures of people crying, people dying. I can’t listen to the sounds of people screaming while planes crash into our city. I can’t watch the videos of the towers crumbling down knowing how many people were in there. I can’t even think about it. But I have to. Because it’s the only thing I can ever do to honor them. And because of this, I’ll Never Forget.
